Physicals for all athletes in grades 7-12 for the 2010-2011 school year will be Monday, August 2, 2010 in the high school gym at 5:30 p.m.

** There will NOT BE a make-up date this year **

2010 State Track Meet at Ardmore - May 7

We entered 8 events at the 4A State Track in Ardmore. No medals were earned this time around, but most of the team will be back next year with valuable experience and hopefully a greater determination to improve on this season's accomplishments.

It seemed we had more than our share of bad luck and injuries this season, but I was proud of everyone enduring and adapting to the challenges.

2010 Regional Track Meet at Madill - May 1

We competed at the 4A Regional meet at Madill yesterday. Top 3 are automatic qualifiers for state. Additional qualifiers will come from the top 4 next times that finished 4th,5th or 6th at the Regional meets.

We had a couple runners unable to compete due to injury.

Our girls were 5th overall at the 16 team Regional.

It was frustrating to not get further along in the event schedule yesterday. Some of our athletes didn't even get in a single race. The meet started 45 minutes late and had several delays once it did start, so when the storms hit, we were not very far along.

The few events we ran went well. There were several season and personal bests.

The next meet on our schedule is Friday at Marietta.

Parents,
We are glad your student is participating in track this season. In the past we have had some trouble with JH students not having transportation available when we get back from a meet. We can only give an approximate time of return, so there needs to be someone available to receive a phone call and provide a way home upon return from the meet. Students are permitted to take cell phones for this purpose or they may call from the gym office when we get back. Athletes who do not have a ride soon after our return will not attend the next meet.
